The BIAS Fund (Bowling Initiatives Accenting Success) is a fund held by Bowls North Harbour to support bowlers and bowls-related activities across the North Harbour area.
What it’s for:
The fund provides financial assistance to help promote excellence, development, participation, and improvement in the game of bowls. It can support:
- Individual bowlers
- Teams
- Umpires
- Administrators
- Coaches
- Selectors
- Clubs
- Greenkeepers
Who can apply:
The fund is mainly intended for full members of Bowls North Harbour, but in some cases it can also help people who aren’t members — for example, funding training for a greenkeeper at a North Harbour club — if the situation justifies it.
How it’s run:
Applications are decided by an independent BIAS Committee, made up of two Bowls North Harbour board members, two other North Harbour bowlers, and one independent member. The committee has full discretion over whether to approve or decline applications, and its decisions are final.
How to apply:
The BIAS Fund meet three times per year – October/February/April and more often if there are extraordinary circumstances.
Close-off dates for any applications to the fund must be lodged with the Chairperson by 30th September, 31st January, 31st March
